What's New with the Sims Country Cloggers?

SIMS STARS!
*At the NC State Clogging Convention at Mars Hill College (May 19) Jessica Oder & Amber Bentley
were named to the NCCA All Star Team!
*Kellie Batten & Sydney Jones participated in Girls on the Run a 5K in Hickory!
*Good job!! Danielle Greene,
Natalie Coffey and Christina Stewart
participated in the Hudson Elementary  Talent Show!
*Erica Starnes, Amanda Bolick, and Erin Conley
made the SCHS Dance Team! 
*Amber Bentley
helped out with the SCHS play Disco Fever.
*Scott Sims
received the prestigious Coffey Scholarship.
*Dallas Perry
Placed First in the Alexander County 4-H Talent Show with her PW Traditional Line Routine!  She will be going on to the district in June!  Way 2 Go Dallas!
*Congrats to
Savannah Stewart
for graduating preschool from Kids Clubhouse!
*Kali Belcher and Emily Miller
participated in the Bethlehem Elementary Talent Show.  Emily placed first in the talent show clogging to Let It Rip by the Dixie Chicks.
*Congrats to Ashley Clark who was recognized at the Wilkes Co. Board of Education meeting for "Strive for Five" on her Reading EOG!  She also brought down the house at her school talent show!
*Congrats to Nocoa Spencer, Emily Harmon, Sara Downing & Rebekah Carswell for making the Spartan Regiment Band. 
*Sierra Jackson from the SCC JR Team is a part of a youth praise band...OUTBURST!  Here is a link to watch one of their videos on Godtube.

*Jana & Paulie Sales recently participated in the Old Soldiers Reunion Pageant and got 1st Runner Up in their age divisions.
*All District Band 2007-2008—Stacy Ford  made 1st chair oboe in All-District band for Middle School.  Also made 1st chair in All-County band this past November.  He attends William Lenoir Middle School.  Nocoa Spencer made second chair clarinet and Sara Downing
made 8th chair clarinet in All-district band for High School (they attend SCHS).  Stacy and Nocoa are auditioning for All State Band.  Good luck guys!!

!  She made the Granite Falls Middle School Volleyball team!

Danielle Greene has been asked to represent Hudson Elementary and sing at the Community School Board meeting at SCHS on February 25th.

for participating in the Sawmills Elementary Talent Show!

for participating in the Oak Hill Talent Show!!
*Congrats to
Breanna Starnes, and the Clogging Cuties Emily Cornett, Sheyen Brinkley, Taylor Ingle, and Lindsey Cooke for participating in the Dudley Shoals Elementary Talent Show and Breanna for making the County Wide talent show Kaleidoscope. 
*Mon March 17—Jessica Griffith, Lee Jackson, and Allison Brown of the SCC Adult Team danced for the Caldwell Early College High School talent show!!  Josh Reed accompanied by Hanna Teague of the Appalachian Energy Team also danced!  Great job guys!
*Mon March 17—The SCC Pee Wee Team Performed for the Helping Hands Clinic in Lenoir.  Excellent Show!
*Dallas Perry of the SCC Elementary Team won first place in the Local Artist Competition in the JR High Age Division.  She also received two honorable mentions!!
*Amberlin Wilcox of the Kids Clog 1 Tuesday class performed in a Suzuki Violin Recital on Saturday, February 23.  She is a second year violin student at the James Harper School of Performing Arts and a Kindergarten student at Hudson Elementary School.  She is the daughter of Vic & Linda Wilcox.  Great job Amberlin!!
*Danielle Greene of the SCC Pee Wee Team was interviewed for the Caldwell County Schools Student Stars program which was broadcast on WKVS, WKGK, and WJRI!  We are very proud of you Danielle!
*Dillon and Brandi Townsend of the Saturday Intermediate Preteen/Teen class were chosen to play for the Big Four Honor Band at Oak Hill School.  They are students at Happy Valley.
*Congrats to Ellie Dishman of the SCC SR team for having higher than a 4.0 average and being recognized at Hibriten High School for this!

Jill Howard
of the SCC JR Team made the South Caldwell High School Dance Team!
*
Tea Pennell of our Monday Pre-Competition Class has been cast as the title character in Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business.
Tea performs with Foothills Performing Arts. Show dates are July 18,19,20,25,26,and 27 at Caldwell Community College.  Way to go Tea!

Rachel and Sarah Adams
of the SCC JR Team participated  in a 5 K race on May 10th: Fleet Feet /Hky Crawdad homerun 5K. Sarah finished 1st in her age group and 2nd overall female with a time of 24:07 and Rachel finished 2nd in her age group and 4th overall female with a time of 25:55
*Congrats to Jodie Isenhour
of the SCC Adult Team...she is the 2008 Ms. Carolina Piedmont, also winning the talent, swimwear, and photogenic phases of the competition.

Paulie Sales
of the Monday Pre-Competition class who has been crowned  Junior Miss Carolina Piedmont.  She was also 1st Runner-Up in talent in her age division.

Abigail Snyder
of the Tuesday Intermediate 1 Class performed in the FAT (fashion,talent,art) Show for 4-H on April 27th at the Old Lenoir High School Auditorium.  They don't give out awards to cloverbuds (which is ages 5-8) but she represented SCC with taste.  She performed her routine to "Start All Over."  Good job!!

Mackenzie Griffin
of the SCC Pee Wee Team participated in the North Carolina Elementary Fine Arts Competition for area Christian schools on Friday, April 25.  She scored in 1st place in the poetry competition, the piano duet competition and the art category of printing!  She will receive 3 blue ribbons!  You go girl!

Dallas Perry of the SCC Elementary Team and Sarah Perry
of the Monday Intermediate Class both danced at the Alexander County 4H talent show (Sarah was not eligible to win).  Dallas won the talent show, doing her acappella routine. We are proud of you girls!
*Robbie’s Run—
Rachel Adams placed 2nd , Amanda Simmons placed 3rd,and Sarah Adams 4th in their age group. Granite Middle Track Team also won the Coach Sain 1st place relay trophy. (Rachel, Sarah, Amanda, and Sierra Jackson
.) They competed against all the other Caldwell Co. Middle schools.

Hannah Carswell
of the SCC Elementary Team also participated in Kaleidoscope.  This was her THIRD time!!!
